428: You’re Not Healing, You’re Just Staying Busy with Jeanette Bronée

By November 18, 2025No Comments

What if the very thing you think is making you productive is actually keeping you stuck?

I used to believe that the more I did, the more I’d achieve. More workshops. More meditation apps. More morning routines. I was collecting healing modalities like they were going out of style. I was convinced that if I just found the right combination, everything would click. But I kept feeling exhausted in a way that sleep couldn’t fix. One day I realized something. All that doing was just another way to avoid being. I was so busy healing that I never had time to actually feel anything.

“Being human is not a problem to fix. We are an advantage to unlock and harness. We really are amazing. Our bodies have an intelligence. We have a human technology that is beyond anything in this world. Think about it. Like you’re growing a baby in your body. You go to the doctor to fix a broken bone, but the bone fixes itself. The doctor just puts it in its right place. And I don’t think we’ve realized how amazing this system that we have, we have been gifted actually is.”

Most of us have confused motion with momentum. We think pausing means falling behind. That rest is for people who aren’t serious. But what if the opposite is true? What if you’re stuck because you never stop long enough to recalibrate?

The Vedic tradition built entire practices around cycles of expansion and contraction. Action and rest. They understood that consciousness moves through rhythms. But somewhere between the industrial revolution and hustle culture, we forgot. We started treating ourselves like machines that should run 24/7. And we wonder why we’re burned out.

Here’s what actually happens when you never pause. Your nervous system stays in survival mode. Cortisol hijacks your system. Your mind spins. You can’t access your own wisdom because you’re too busy looking for answers outside yourself. You’re running on autopilot. Making choices that aren’t even yours. Following a schedule you didn’t consciously create. That momentum you think you’re building? It’s just momentum in the wrong direction.

This matters now more than ever. We’re racing toward an AI driven world. We’re hoping automation will give us more time to be present. But what if it doesn’t? What if we just fill that space with more tasks? More consumption? More avoiding? What if we lose our ability to navigate our own lives the same way we lost our ability to navigate our towns without GPS?

Real power isn’t about doing more. It’s about knowing when to stop.

Today our guest is Jeanette Bronée, a self care strategist, keynote speaker, and author of The Self Care Mindset.

In this episode, you’ll discover:

  • Why survival mode blocks you from your own inner knowing
  • How to tell the difference between being busy and taking real action
  • The three stages of pausing that pull you out of autopilot mode
